Tobi no seki 2003

One of the aims of this project was to "bring together professionals of different skills and capitalize on their expertise to do a project focused on inaho." Some of the artworks presented at Tobi no Seki were created in collaboration with several craftsmen. One of such series of works, "Ten Hands," combines the term "taba, which describes bundling people and ideas by crossing several conditions and objects to integrating them into one," with the idea of "taba, as a unit provided to count ten sets of hitonigiri, which amounts to a handful." Techniques to "twist (nau) " and "bind (tabaneru) " were incorporated into the process.
